What Are Automation Templates?

Automation templates are pre-built workflows that cover common CRM use cases. Instead of building automations from scratch, you can install a template and have a working automation in minutes. Templates include the trigger, conditions, action sequence, and default configurations — you just fill in the blanks (like which email template to use or which team members to include). Go to Automations → Templates to open the gallery. Templates are organized by category:
  • Lead Management — Workflows for qualifying and nurturing leads.
  • Sales Pipeline — Deal progression and follow-up workflows.
  • Customer Success — Onboarding and retention workflows.
  • Support — Case management and SLA workflows.
Each template card shows:
  • The automation name and description
  • The trigger it uses
  • How many actions are in the sequence
  • A preview of the workflow steps

Installing a Template

1

Find a template

Browse the gallery or use the search bar to find a template by name or category.
2

Preview the template

Click a template to see the full workflow diagram — trigger, conditions, actions, and wait steps — before installing.
3

Install

Click Install Template. The template is copied into your automations as a new draft automation. It is not yet active.
4

Customize

Open the installed automation and update the settings: choose the email templates to use, set assigned users, adjust wait durations, and review conditions.
5

Activate

Toggle the automation to Active when you’re ready to run it.

Customizing Installed Templates

Installing a template creates a full copy — you own it and can change anything. Common customizations include:
  • Email content — Replace placeholder email templates with your actual branded templates.
  • Wait durations — Adjust timing to match your sales cycle. A 2-day follow-up may be right for hot leads, but 5 days might be better for enterprise prospects.
  • Assigned users — Update round-robin pools or specific assignees to match your team.
  • Conditions — Add or tighten conditions so the automation only applies to the right records.
Changes to a template do not affect the original template in the gallery — only your installed copy.

Built-In Templates

1. New Lead Welcome Sequence

Trigger: Lead Created Sends an immediate welcome email, waits 2 days, then creates a follow-up task. Ideal for any inbound lead channel.

2. Lead Nurture (7-Day Drip)

Trigger: Lead Status Changed → Nurturing Sends three emails over 7 days designed to keep warm leads engaged without being pushy. Uses AI-generated emails with a low-pressure tone.

3. Qualified Lead Fast-Track

Trigger: Lead Status Changed → Qualified Immediately assigns the lead via round-robin to your sales team and sends an SMS notification to the assigned rep. Creates a call task due today.

4. Proposal Follow-Up Sequence

Trigger: Proposal Status Changed → Sent Waits 2 days after a proposal is sent. If not yet viewed, sends a gentle follow-up email. If viewed but not accepted after another 3 days, sends a second follow-up.

5. Closed Won Onboarding

Trigger: Opportunity Stage Changed → Closed Won Updates the linked contact’s stage to Customer, sends a welcome-aboard email, creates an onboarding task for the customer success team, and schedules a check-in task for 30 days out.

6. Case Acknowledgment & SLA

Trigger: Case Created Immediately sends an acknowledgment email to the contact confirming the case was received. For high or critical priority cases, also sends an in-app notification to the support manager.

7. Win-Back Campaign

Trigger: Lead Status Changed → Lost Waits 60 days, then sends a re-engagement email offering a new angle or updated value proposition. If no response after 7 more days, marks the lead as Unqualified and creates a task for a personal outreach.

8. Inactive Contact Re-Engagement

Trigger: No Activity for 45 Days (Contact) Sends a check-in email to contacts who haven’t been engaged in 45 days. If the contact opens the email, creates a follow-up task for the assigned rep. Helps prevent contacts from going cold without anyone noticing.
