What Are Automation Templates?
Automation templates are pre-built workflows that cover common CRM use cases. Instead of building automations from scratch, you can install a template and have a working automation in minutes. Templates include the trigger, conditions, action sequence, and default configurations — you just fill in the blanks (like which email template to use or which team members to include).Browsing the Template Gallery
Go to Automations → Templates to open the gallery. Templates are organized by category:- Lead Management — Workflows for qualifying and nurturing leads.
- Sales Pipeline — Deal progression and follow-up workflows.
- Customer Success — Onboarding and retention workflows.
- Support — Case management and SLA workflows.
- The automation name and description
- The trigger it uses
- How many actions are in the sequence
- A preview of the workflow steps
Installing a Template
Preview the template
Click a template to see the full workflow diagram — trigger, conditions, actions, and wait steps — before installing.
Install
Click Install Template. The template is copied into your automations as a new draft automation. It is not yet active.
Customize
Open the installed automation and update the settings: choose the email templates to use, set assigned users, adjust wait durations, and review conditions.
Customizing Installed Templates
Installing a template creates a full copy — you own it and can change anything. Common customizations include:- Email content — Replace placeholder email templates with your actual branded templates.
- Wait durations — Adjust timing to match your sales cycle. A 2-day follow-up may be right for hot leads, but 5 days might be better for enterprise prospects.
- Assigned users — Update round-robin pools or specific assignees to match your team.
- Conditions — Add or tighten conditions so the automation only applies to the right records.
